Welcome to the new

Catholic Parishes of Western Wayne County

combined St. Katharine Drexel & St. Maximilian Kolbe website!

This site is still under development, so please forgive the gaps and oversights.  But take some time to explore, explore, explore!  Get to know the new format and enjoy some of the new features.  And we welcome your suggestions on how it could be made even better.

Christmas Sharing
2020

The Christmas Sharing tree is up in St. Mary's Church.  You can take stars or donation envelopes when you attend mass or on weekdays during office hours.  Any untaken stars will be removed from the tree on November 23 to allow time for Santa's elves to provide the remaining gifts.  Remember, your wrapped gift (labeled with what you bought written on the back of the star) must be returned by December 13.

We have also begun collecting food for the Christmas Dinner gift boxes.  Baskets to collect your donations are available in the main entrance of church and in the parish center hallway.  We will be collecting pie filling, pie crust mix and evaporated milk, then bread mix, stuffing and gravy, as well as canned vegetables, cranberry sauce and canned fruit.  You are also invited to sign up in the hallway to donate a Christmas turkey.

Thank you for your generous support as we share our blessings with our neighbors during this most unusual and difficult year.

Christmas Basket

Parishioners and community members in the Sodus area are once again assembling Christmas gift baskets for local families this holiday season.

For more information and to volunteer, please contact the St. Max parish office 315-524-2611.

Macedon Community  Christmas Program 2020

The Macedon Community Christmas Program is in the process of gathering food, gifts, and gift cards to provide to families in the Walworth/Macedon area this holiday season.

Check out the bulletin for details on ways to donate and volunteer.

Celebration of Mass

Welcome Back

Masses have resumed at St. Maximilian Kolbe and Saint Katharine Drexel following the regular schedule.

ALL DAILY AND SUNDAY MASSES HAVE RESUMED at 33% building capacity.

It is important to know that “the obligation of a Catholic to attend Sunday Mass remains suspended and we have uniformly encouraged those most at risk to stay home” (Bishop Matano, Memorandum, May 21, 2020).

The following guidelines will be in place for all public Masses for the foreseeable future:

  • ALL THOSE WHO ENTER THE CHURCH MUST BE WEARING A FACE MASK.  You must come wearing one and must wear one while you are in the church.

  • Everyone must sanitize his or her hands upon entrance to the church.  Hand sanitizer will be provided at the entrances.

  • Observe social distancing measures.  Pews in each church will be clearly marked as to where people may sit.  A family may sit together, but please be six (6) feet apart from the next person or family.

  • The public space will be sanitized after each Mass in preparation for the next.
